With much gusto, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Wednesday, said that despite the lack of presence on Senate sessions, he considers himself to be the most productive member of the chamber.
This, in terms of bills filed and sponsored. Senate records showed that he had the lowest attendance despite being around in 52 session days out of 79 as he was on a supposed 23 Official Missions, of which 20 were out of the country, 3 local trips and recorded 4 absences.

“Ang hindi narereport is number one ako bilang most productive senator dito sa Congress na ito. So, ‘di ba yun ang mas importante kaysa naka-attend ka nga diyan, araw-araw kang uma-attend pero wala ka namang ginagawa,” Trillanes said to the reporters, when asked about the matter at a press briefing.

“I’m the most productive in terms of the numbers of bills filed. I’m in the top five at least sa pinakamaraming sponsored na bills. So, ginagawa ko ‘yung trabaho ko,” Trillanes added.
Judging by the number of times he was ‘absent’ from the sessions, Trillanes said he is still on top of every situation by doing his job as a Senator.

“Meron akong official business when I was out so covered ‘yan by a travel authority. So technically, that is not counted as an absence. But, at the end of the day ginagawa ko yung trabaho ko,” he said.

“Given the opportunity na imbestigahan ‘yung mga kalabisan nitong administrasyon na ito, ginagawa ko. Sa ganitong klaseng administrasyon na baluktot, ‘yun ang importanteng trabaho ng Senado [ma] apparently hindi na namin ginagawa,” he added.

Meanwhile, 4 other Senators registered PERFECT attendance, in the same record as Trillanes’, during the 2nd regular session of the 17th Congress. Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri and Senators Aquilino Pimentel III and Panfilo Lacson all completed 79 sessions of the chamber.

"I diligently do my work so that the people who voted for me know that their votes were worth it." Sotto said when sought for comment.

While former Senate leader Pimentel said through a text message, “I will give it my best shot because it feels nice to have perfect attendance.”

Records also showed that Pimentel, Sotto and Lacson were also never late in the session while Zubiri was late once due to an official mission but still made it to the session hall.
